"Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they [people] need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go." Mother Teresa
About
George Bakalov was born and raised in Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria. He became a Christian in 1989, shortly before the fall of the Berlin wall and the end of Communist regime in Bulgaria. Only a year later, at age 21, he started a new church, which grew to a 1,000 members in four short years. In the last two decades, the church, today known as Breakthrough Christian Center, has been actively involved in impacting Bulgaria, the Balkan region and Eastern Europe by organizing and hosting evangelistic campaigns, international believer's conferences, media ministry and apostolic networking among leadership.
George has traveled and ministered in 36 different nations in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Africa. His reformation message has stirred tens of thousands of believers to pursue the Kingdom of God first.
George’s philanthropic efforts have resulted in humanitarian relief, food, clothing and medical equipment worth over $8 million to be delivered to Bulgaria in the mid 90’s when inflation had decimated the country’s economy. He has worked with orphanages, drug addicts and other disadvantaged social groups. He has also participated in humanitarian efforts in the Balkan crisis in 1999, bringing relief to Albanian refugees in the Stenkovec-2 Camp in 1999 during the armed NATO conflict with Serbian dictator Slobodan Milosevic.
George's ministry was covered in a January, year 2000 edition of Charisma magazine (download PDF here). In addition, he has been interviewed on TBN's Praise the Lord and on numerous Christian radio programs in the United States and other nations.
George is the founder of an independent media company which has worked with some of the world’s leading publishers of Christian books such as Sovereign World, Creation House, Regal and others.
George and his wife Wanda currently reside in Apple Valley, Minnesota with their three adorable daughters Jennifer, Emilie and Abigail. [click here for family web site]
